Bosay Resort in Antipolo City, Rizal

Just to tell you, the very last thing I’ll probably do just to enjoy the summer vacation is spending my whole time in a resort where no other option but to swim and glide in a manmade pool. I just don’t like it simply because I’m such a brat maybe (lol). Imagining a lot of people sharing a very limited space, can’t stretch your arms nor flap your feet, and even freeing your mind with too much pressure at work is never possible.

Other than that, imagine how many trees were cut and how many species of wildlife been deprived of their natural habitat? Sad to hear, right? Our mother nature laid everything we need to survive – food, shelter, etc. But some people keep wanting more and more every day. They have food enough to share with the family and yet they wanted more to an extent of greediness. They built houses but they want it bigger and unique compared to their neighbors’. All these wants were never enough to them, they’re into competing each other. Competing for fame and fortune, competing for MONEY!

Not so long ago, in my college years, I had the chance trekking the mountains of Rizal. I admired the rich culture and tradition of indigent residents. But most of all, I admired the beauty of nature. The façade of the mountains were beyond majestic as well as the spectacular Daranak Falls in Tanay just to mention. I thought it would be a dejavu going back there and a good spot to end summer vacation this year so I opted to pack all things including my excitement. But heck it is! I got disappointed big time. I saw houses, business establishments, and resorts here and there.

What happened to environmental and wildlife protection initiatives of our government? How many more mountains are they going to destroy to make way for these developments? All these government officials do is talk while showing a fake concern on the effect of global warming, environmental degradation, blah blah blah. Where in fact, some of them own not just one, two, or even more of these. Walk your talk!

So in totality, did I enjoy the trip? Well, the thought of spending your time with your officemates, I believe I enjoyed it. But with respect to nature, I absolutely did not.
